Product details

■ MEG (MONOETHYLENE GLYCOL)

CAS NO. 107-21-1

FORMULA

C2H6O2

DESCRIPTION

Monoethylene glycol (Ethylene glycol) : colourlessodourless, non-volatile liquid

A primary use of MEG is in the manufacture of polyester (PET) resins, films and fibers.

In addition, MEG is important in the production of antifreezes, coolants, aircraft anti-icer and deicers and solvents.

 DEG (DIETHYLENE GLYCOL)

CAS NO. 111-46-6

FORMULA

C4H10O3

DESCRIPTION

Diethylene Glycol  is a colourless, virtually odourless, viscous liquid. Compared to MEG, it has a higher boiling point, viscosity and specific gravity.

A primary use of DEG is in the manufacture of polyester resins, polyurethanes, plasticizers

 TEG (TRIETHYLENE GLYCOL)

CAS NO. 112-27-6

FORMULA

C6H14O4

DESCRIPTION>

Triethylene Glycol (TEG) is a larger molecule than MEG, DEG and has two ether groups.

It is less clear and less hygroscopic than DEG, but has a higher boiling point, density and viscosity.

TEG is a component in the formulation of some pigments, printing dyes, inks and pastes.

It is also used for air fumigation.
